Gertrude ((nee Baxter))FAWCETTof Moorhead Rest Home, Accrington, and formerly of Richmond Street, Accrington, died on Tuesday, November 19, at Blackburn Royal Hospital, aged 92. Known as Trudy, she worked at Howard and Bulloughs, Rist Wires and Cables and Wills Fabrics. She was a member of Unison at the Poplar Club in Accrington. Trudy excelled in running during her school years and enjoyed ballroom and tap dancing as well as disco in later years. She enjoyed the French and German languages and loved to travel. She was the mother of Brian, Michael and Christine, grandmother to Robin and Lyndsay, Rachel and Lisa, Rebecca and Bethany, step-mother to Barbara and Andrew and a much loved great-grandmother. The funeral took place on Wednesday, December 4, at Accrington Crematorium at 2.20pm conducted by Angela Riding. Donations are requested for Hyndburn Cat Rescue c/o funeral director Wolstenholmes Funeral Services, Accrington.
