Charles AntonyHAGGERIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Hagger on 31 October 2023, at the age of 71. Father to Carl and Sean; grandfather to Finn, Millie, Flo, Oscar and Kit; brother to Ann Veronica, Suzanne, Nicholas and Penny.

Born on 9 December 1951 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Charles painted the world with the vibrant colours of his spirit. Throughout his life, he carried an air of casual charm and was seldom seen in a traditional suit, preferring instead to embrace the colourful tapestry of life with his laid-back attire.

A service to celebrate Charles' life will be held at St. Leonards Church in Hythe on 8 December at 13:00. Following the church service, a short committal ceremony will take place at Hawkinge Crematorium for close family and friends. In keeping with Charles' colourful and casual spirit, the family invites all to wear bright and lively informal attire as a vibrant testament to his joyful character, avoiding traditional suits.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to 'The Longest Game' Charity which supports Kamran's Oncology Ward at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital - a charity which is very close to the hearts of Charles' family. www.justgiving.com/page/Kamrans-hagger-1674472420455

In this time of sorrow, may we take comfort in the memories we shared with Charles and find solace in the knowledge that his spirit now rests peacefully. His impact on the world and the love he shared will remain with us forever.

Rest in peace, Charles, you will be sadly missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Charles’ passing. He was young at heart and always positive. He was loved dearly and will be missed deeply. I hope the pain of his loss eases soon. Xx

Like the family, we are devastated at the passing. Charles was an extra special friend with whom we, separately and together, shared so many laughs and times. He was also unbelievably proactive at the time of our civil ceremony. For every single one of the 35 or so years, thank you. A very good man has left this world. Peter and Virginia

Charles - last year we exchanged messages and said we would meet up for a chat. I wish we had. It was a pleasure to know you and work with you. You will be sadly missed by so many. Keith
