Lily (Lil)HAYES (Nee Smith)Nee Smith Passed away peacefully on 2nd February aged 87 years. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Hayes Dearly loved mother and mother in law of Christine and Mark Also a dear Sister, Sister in Law, Aunty and friend to many. Affectionately known as "Aunty Lil" to many people. This was due to her great love for children, playing the piano at her local primary school during her retirement years and also during her lifelong membership of the Salvation Army in Burton. A Private Funeral Service, by invitation only due to Covid 19 restrictions, will be held on Thursday 4th March at Bretby Crematorium. A webcast is being recorded of the Service for the benefit of those who are unable to attend due to the current strict restrictions. Donations in lieu of flowers should kindly be sent directly to the family in the first instance. The donations will then be collated and will be used towards the purchase of a remembrance gift for Stubby Leas Nursing home, in gratitude for the love and excellent care they gave to Lil in the last 18 months.
