JoanHUCKLEThe family are sad to announce the loss of Joan who died peacefully at home in Nettleham on Saturday 24th April 2021. Joan was born in October 1947. Married to husband, Roger in 1973, Joan was a loving, caring wife who devoted her happy life to her family - children Abigail and Alexander, their partners Carl and Beth, grandchildren Hattie and Alfie, sister and cousins and to many friends and work colleagues. As an inspiring teacher, Joan initially taught at St Peter in Eastgate C of E Infant School and then spanned four decades at Nettleham C of E Junior School, Joan was also Chair of Governors at Welton William Farr Secondary School. With particular thanks to those who loved and supported Joan over the last few months, the carers, doctors, nurses and everyone at Welton Family Health Centre who gave Joan the time at home she wished for. A private funeral will take place at Nettleham Church on Wednesday 19th May at 11.15am. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to Marie Curie or St Barnabas Hospice via Lincolnshire Co-op Funeral Services, 11 Proctors Road, Lincoln, LN2 4LA. Tel 01522 535800.

Joan's presence within three decades of my life has been a blessing in every way. Initially, benefiting from her care and skill as one of my teachers Nettleham Junior School. Then as I embarked upon training as a teacher myself, Joan was full of wisdom and encouragement. We would catch up over a chat after church services, where I was always inspired by her calm nature and generosity of spirit. More recently we both found ourselves juggling wriggly toddlers together, with Joan as a doting grandparent. Her humour, integrity and warm-heartedness in each interaction we shared will always stay with me.. Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory Joan.

What a wonderful warm and kind lady, who was wise in all she said and did. I loved working alongside her at Nettleham Junior School and she would listen to my woes and fears and always leave me feeling special and uplifted. A wonderful lady who will be greatly missed.

She was a wonderful and caring person. I knew her first as a patient teacher when I was a child and later as a lovely woman, who loved her family. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
