Phil Hunter came to a very small Messianic Jewish fellowship in Leeds in the early nineties. It was December, very cold and dark that evening.
He spoke powerfully about his burning desire to bring Jewish people out of Russia by coach.
Afterward, over a cup of tea, I gave him my contact with the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (pre-2000 when it was hijacked by evil men and women.)
Within days Phil was in Jersualem, and not long after Exobus was born.
80,000 Jewish people liberated since then.
I'm left breathless what a word on a cold December evening can achieve in the power of God.

Just wanted to remember Phil, was in Hull in February 2008 on business and dropped in to see Phil unannounced and was told he was in Israel. Sad to hear of his death but overjoyed to know he is with the Greatest King of all Kings our God and saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. I was thinking back to our trip to Israel in 1994 and how passionate he was about the gospel and reaching out to people. I also remember throwing him in the hotel swimming pool in Ariel. He will be remembered with great fondness and respect by me and only today was talking with Rob Cerritelli who also had great respect for Phil a dedicated man of integrity who was not afraid even when all the odds were stacked against him. Kind Regards Trevor Higgs
