DavidJORDANWith great sadness on 4th May passed away at HRI aged 77 years. Dear Husband of Pat. Much loved Dad of Debbie and Neil, In-laws Dave and Di. Cherished Grandad of Jess and Harry. Courageous to the end and forever in our hearts. Funeral service to take place on Friday 21st May at Chanterlands Crematorium 3.30pm (large chapel) No flowers please by family request but donations if desired for Actions for Pulmonary Fibrosis collection plate at service. Resting at John Parkin & Son, 3 Saltshouse Road. Tel. 376104.

Dave and Pat were our neighbours for a while living in leven, we soon became friends and stayed friends, I have to say he was one of the nicest blokes I’ve had the pleasure to meet and call my friend . Dave was devoted to his family and selfless in all ways.. Dave I’m sorry I didn’t get to see you during this pandemic I have 3 bottles of whisky here for you x

Always fond memories of you Uncle David from me throwing my dummy into the back of the car cause you was going to pinch it, you singing Music Man on the mini bus after a night on the Whiskey. You was quite a character and will live on in our hearts until we meet again. It was a pleasure being you niece. Love Nicola and Great niece Katie xx

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive and ultimately a terminal disease which I and my family had never heard of until my Dad was diagnosed with it 5 years ago, yet over 6000 people are diagnosed across the UK every year. It is a 'cruel' disease for which there is currently no cure. I can't really imagine how my Dad really felt over the last five years, but I know he fought the disease as much as he could by staying active, as long as he was able. He was brave and courageous every single day! By supporting Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis I hope we will help to raise awareness of the disease and support medical trials, which couldn't save my Dad, but will hopefully in the not too distant future, give hope to all families impacted by IPF.
