We are absolutely heartbroken to have lost our father and grandad. It has been a time of many tears, but also through looking at all the old photo’s thinking back to happy times.
As a boy, you had dreamed of exploring the Amazon. When I was in my twenties I spent some time in Costa Rica, you were able to join me. Together we explored rainforests and took a trip down the river to see the turtles laying their eggs on the beach. It was a fabulous trip and I was so lucky that we were able to share this together.
You were always there for all of us. When I crashed my first car and the garage said the car was a right off, you bought the bits and fixed it up, You were always the engineer. Whether it was maths homework or fixing something you were there to help.
We will all miss you so much.

To my wonderful dad, and the world's best ever grandad, we will miss you always. You loved being out and about in the woods, and especially in the Spring when the bluebells are shining. I am leaving this gift to The Woodland Trust in memory of you, and hope they will ensure there will always be bluebell woods to run in.

To my fantastic dad - you unlocked my life-long love of wildlife and the countryside with all those long muddy walks and riverside paddles. You were great fun to be with and one of the most loyal and supportive dads I could ever wish for, you never ever let me down, and whatever the situation had a word of wisdom or a wry smile. You were also a top grandad, and both my boys (and the grand-dogs) adored you. You were always amazing at everything you set your mind to - be it building radio masts, teaching electrical engineering, Guide Friday on bus tours round Bath, but most of all growing fabulous blooms and photography - where you regularly cleared the prize table at so many Somerset flower shows. As we come up to the Spring daffodil season, we will be missing all of those dozens of little pots of plants, assembled on every surface inside and outside, waiting their turn to be judged. I will miss you beyond what words can say, but I know you will always be with me, in my heart and guiding me in the future.
