Devastated to learn of the passing of a real good mate, 'Sprog'. Met John in the Exeter Arms, Derby when I was still in the Royal Navy about 1983 and we teamed up. He loved the craic and was a really genuine lad. When I was at a very low ebb and was discharged from the RN on medical grounds, John was there for me and we have remained in touch ever since. Last time I saw him was April 2019 and should have met again in April 2020 but Covid 19 put a block on that, as I could not travel from Ireland. We went through the lot Johnny boy, you were one in a million and I have often tried phoning you recently but when I got constant messaging service I feared the worst! How sad, my missus, just shed a tear when I told her and so have I. I also often told my lads what a good mate you were. To Glyn, Clive, Tim and all family members, I share your loss and pain. The World has lost a genuine person and Heaven has gained an Angel. God Bless and Rest Easy.
