John MichaelKEAY13th January 2021 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend John Keay who passed away at the Countess of Chester Hospital aged 91. Husband of the late Joan Keay, John was a Chester County Welfare Officer for the most of his working life. In his spare time he volunteered with many amateur dramatic theatre groups in Chester. Also a lover of classical music, he was a lifetime member of the Chester Music Society. He has left a hole in our small community and will be missed, but not forgotten. He gave so much and asked for nothing in return, a true Gentleman of his time. Donations in memory of John can be made to Dementia UK online or at the service. A funeral service will be held at St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Chester on Monday 1st February at 2:30 pm followed by committal at Chester Crematorium at 3.20 pm. Enquiries can be made to Rebecca at George Pettit Funeral Care, 12 Lower Bridge Street, Chester, CH1 1RS. Tel: 01244 323 970.
