I first met Andy when I was 11, he was 20 and had just got engaged to my big sister! From day 1 I was in awe of all his stories of his time in the Met and his ongoing adventures in the Police Force, so many hilarious situations and he recounted them so well! There are so many fabulous memories of our times together, from me “blowing up” his cigarette with a kit from the toy shop on one of the first times he met my mum (resulting with him falling off his chair) , his John Cleese “Ministry of Funny Walks” impressions, his bitter sharp wit and the way he could bond with anyone (and that was not the easiest task for an “English” bobby in a very anti-English Scottish Highland village)! He was my “big” brother, my mentor, my friend. A truly special guy, so thankful to have known him, so sad that he is physically gone, but the memories…………thankfully they will live for ever.

I first met Andy when I started going out with Gordon, it was 33 years ago and I loved going over to stay with Andy, Kim, Jamie and Andrea. We had so many amazing times, always with funny stories and lots of fun and laughter.

Rest in peace Andy, you will be in great company with Jean & Dougie again 💞

Andy we are going to miss your company, your wicked sense of humour, your hilarious stories and the many acts of kindness provided to our family over the years. It has been a privilege to have known you. A true gentleman with a great public service record. We are thinking about your close family and friends that you leave behind sending our love and best wishes.
Stephen, Lindsay, Emma and Tom. Plus a salute from the Captain and Toby

Dear Andy

You taught Bob some very annoying catchphrases from Little Britain, (now repeated daily in our household...eh eh ehh..!!) You introduced us to some of the most boring documentaries on planes and war you can imagine. Your dedication to ironing all your clothes before getting dressed was second to non...but sadly never never seemed to rub off on your nearest and dearest. You were a gentleman. You were Katherine’s wingman, and she yours. You took care of Madeleine when she needed a place in the sun. You have left a big hole in the lives of many especially for Jamie and Andrea and their families.

And, finally, it can never be said that you, Andy, ever arrived somewhere late and true to form you have once again left far too bloody early to arrive at your final destination.

Rest in peace with all our love
Lorraine and Bob xxxx

Andy was my shift Inspector when I joined the Police at Scunthorpe in 1988. His mentoring and supervision set me on the right path in the service. Imagine my surprise when I bumped into him in Cyprus many years later through mutual friends Allan & Debs. Many stories and memories told over Keo. A true gentleman with a typical gallows sense of humour. Sadly missed, along with dear Maddy, rest in peace Sir.
