Alan HughesLAMB (Former Headteacher of Woodford School)Former Headteacher of Woodford School On February 16th, after much pain, passed away peacefully. For thirty eight years, darling husband of Ruth, previously of Sylvia (deceased), loving Dad of Wendy, father-in-law of Jon and beloved Granddad of Erin and Jess. God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put His arms around you, And whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, As you slowly slipped away, And though we loved you dearly, We couldn't make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, Your tired hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. We miss you, but our love for you lives on in our memories and our hearts. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions there will have to be a private funeral. Family flowers only. Donations made in memory of Alan are to benefit of the work of The Stroke Association and may be left at www.wyattbrothers.co.uk Enquires to: Wyatt Brothers 5-7 Durnford Street Plymouth PL1 3QJ Tel: 01752 600437

Alan, you were a true gentleman and one who will never be forgotten. As a Headteacher, you provided a very happy and stimulating environment at Woodford where we believe our three sons flourished and gained skills to allow them to do so well in later life. It was a pleasure to be a member of the PTA and really see how supportive you were of our efforts. Your personal kindness and thoughtfulness will long be remembered. Bless you.
