MarioLAURENTISadly passed away at Nottingham City Hospital from COVID-19, on Wednesday 13th January aged 90 years. After a short stay in hospital Mario gave up the fight so he could be reunited with his wife who passed away on 10th November 2020. Mario and Maria were married for 70 years. Mario was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother in law and was a very well respected member of the Italian Community and once Chairman of the Italian Club. He was a well known figure in the Lenton community with many friends from the local Italian Community, Sainsburys staff to the refuse collectors who he spoke to regularly. Outgoing, kind, generous, a great friend and mentor to everyone, always with a smile and a wave. Independent to the end. Sadly missed by his children Claudio, Luciano, Clarita and Antonella, brother in law Franco, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral service to be held at St Barnabas Cathedral on Tuesday 2nd February 2021 at 10am followed by a burial at Wilford Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the British Heart Foundation on behalf of Mario online via the link https://mariolaurenti.muchloved.com/ as well as tributes.
