IanLEIGHOn Friday, September 3, in hospital, Ian Leigh, aged 76, of Oswaldtwistle. Ian started his working life at Gilbraith’s, prior to working at Shopfitters, Oswaldtwistle. He also worked at St Hubert’s Catholic School and Lancashire County Council, prior to owning his own grocers business in Huncoat. Ian was an avid Blackburn Rovers fan, he enjoyed a game of golf and was a former member of Green Haworth Golf Club. Ian was a keen cricket fan and enjoyed watching a match at Church & Oswaldtwistle Cricket Club. He was also a member of Oswaldtwistle (Conservative) Social Club. Ian is the much loved husband of Marjorie (Marj), the much loved dad of Jayne and John, the sadly missed father-in-law of Dean and Susan, also a devoted grandad of Aaron, Amy, Bethanie and Ben. The funeral service will be held at Immanuel Parish Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Friday, September 17 at 11.30am, prior to interment in the churchyard. Family flowers only please; donations if so desired in aid of RSPCA Altham Animal Centre, Holker House Farm, Enfield Road, Altham, BB5 6NN. Funeral director: Oswaldtwistle Funeral Service.
