BettyMCGLINCHEYMam, my lovely little Irish girl. The sadness you felt, upon leaving behind your family and homeland of Ireland, to travel alone to a foreign land, still a mere child of fourteen, you encountered obstacles and heartache along the way, but you also found excitement, love and happiness. The hardships you suffered and the sacrifices you made, to raise your family without complaint. You leave so many happy memories behind, to cherish and call upon in the years ahead. The fun and laughter we shared, and that beautiful warm smile of yours we all loved so much. Every day I say a prayer, and I ask the Lord above, to keep you safely in his care, and enfold you in his love. I hide my tears, when I say your name, but the pain in my heart is still the same. R.I.P Mam. Your ever loving son. Danny

Since our boyhood days Danny and me were close friends. In my many visits to the house, Mrs Mcglinchey, as I always called her, made me welcome and nothing was too much trouble, especially with two boys who could eat for England. She made the best egg and chips in the world before oven chips were heard of. She was beautiful on the inside and on the outside. Michael Mulligan
