So sad to hear of the passing of such a wonderful, gentle, caring man. He was my gran and mother and father's doctor and from the day I was born, my doctor too. We all felt as if we were going for a chat with a friend at the surgery, rather than a GP. Bernard was the only GP who could talk my gran around to taking tablets, or going to hospital - he had a brilliant bedside manner. He was truly loved by all his local patients with his patience and understanding he helped a lot of people.

Bernard was a kind gentle man and a very good doctor, he was a family friend of the Roberts, he was very kind to us Martin, Rachel and Andrew when we lost our mam Julie and previously our dad jonathan rest in peace Dr mcstay, God bless.
