The best boss I ever had who became a great personal friend along with Christine who I had great affection for too. Unfortunately life gets in the way and I hadn't seen Bill much over the last few years however he was never far from my thoughts. The 6 years I spent at McWalters Architects in my early 20s were some of the best and I'll never forget them, or indeed Bill. To say he changed my life in the best way would not be understating things. Sleep tight Bill x

Bill was a great friend since we first met in 1959 in the Stirling Burgh Architects Office The following year we went on an architectural study tour to Italy. We had a great time . It set up a lifetime friendship although it was a distant one when I went to live in Australia in 1971 Still we always got together on the numerous trips that I had back to Scotland over the years. Bill was great company and as we were both architects we had plenty to talk about. He was a very committed architect and produced excellent work. I saw him in September last year. He was in a bad way but he had an amazing positive attitude for the future

Dear Christine and Roy and family,
I knew Bill through the Rotary Club of Carse of Stirling and always enjoyed his company. He was interesting and knowledgeable about a whole range of subjects and never without a view! Unfortunately I am not able to be at the funeral so please accept my condolences, prayers and best wishes.
Regards,
Colin Peebles
