I first met Dave at the electrical apprentices training centre at Devonport Dockyard , he was an entry ahead of me, but I well remember meeting him for the first time, there must have been something about him that gave me that memory.
Several years later our paths crossed again when he, along with Maureen became our neighbours at Saltash , our wives became good friends, a friendship that has lasted down through the years, and continues on.
Dave was always good company, with a ready wit and dry sense of humour which raised many a smile.
He was also a very stoical character and took any problems at face value, an attribute that served him well in the sad recent years of his life.
He will be greatly missed. Mary and I send our most sincerest condolences to Maureen, Jill, Matthew and families.
