Arthur JamesSCANLONGateshead, formerly Benwell Very sadly passed away on Thursday 10th June 2021, aged 81 years at St Bede's at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after taking ill suddenly. Devoted husband of Sheila, treasured Dad of Beverley and Paula and sons in law Phil and Richard. Adored grandad to Daniel and Katie, doting great grandad to Blake Arthur, much loved brother of Derek, Carole and Susan. Beloved uncle, great uncle, brother -in - law and a very dear friend to many. He was a wonderful man and will be so deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. Service at the West Road Crematorium on Thursday 1st July at 12.30pm and afterwards at Benwell Hill Cricket Club. Current Covid-19 restrictions apply. Family flowers only please but donations if desired can be made to Ward 41, Royal Victoria Infirmary or the Washington Wetlands Centre.

My dear grandad Arthur. I miss you so much already and your loss has left a hole in my life that will never be filled. I’m so pleased you got to meet the light of your life Blake Arthur. I will live my life with a mindset of doing you proud. Words can’t describe how much I love you. Thank you for everything you done for me and my little boy and I promise you will live on grandad. Rest easy. Until I see you again 💙
