DavidSHANKLANDSHANKLAND The family of the late David Shankland would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the kind messages of sympathy received on his passing. Also thanks to everyone who took the time to join us in the moving celebration of Davie's life at the Crichton Memorial Church, and many thanks for the generous donations which exceeded ?1300, and will be divided amongst various charities reflecting Davie's interests. Grateful thanks to John Glover, Ian Landles, Ewan McGowan, Ian Kirkpatrick, piper Gavin Maxwell, organist David McCullough, the staff at Crichton Church and Easterbrook Hall, with a special mention to William Williamson for his organisation of Davie's service. We also wish to record our appreciation of the people of Lochmaben and regulars of the Crown Hotel who turned out to say farewell to Davie on his final trip through his town. Finally, we wish to express our deep gratitude to J & A Hodgson, the Funeral Directors, for their professional and sensitive approach, which ensured the day went as Davie would have wished
