Geoffrey Thompson helped me when I was completely crippled by back pain, and the hospital had tried everything but nothing worked. Thank you... I have never forgotten.

I’m sorry to learn of Geoff’s passing. It was quite a shock and made me regret that I should have made the extra effort to call on him at Catharine Place more regularly.
I have much to thank him for. Supporting my choice to study chiropractic in UK, he would welcome me at British Chiropractic Association conferences and dinners whilst I was a student, something that was not done in those days, introducing me to other stalwarts of the profession at that time.
On graduating in 1977 Geoff asked me to do a locum and other opportunities followed. This provided me with the perfect hands on experience of observing and running an established practice, giving me ideas on how this could be accomplished at Wingfield where I had a fledgling Chiropractic clinic. He was exceptionally generous and did not see me as a competitor. Instead, he actively encouraged his patients from the Trowbridge area to visit me in Wingfield.
During his Presidency of the British Chiropractic Association (1977 -79) he encouraged me to seek election to the board. I was admitted in 1978 and this set me on the way to further office and service to the profession over the next three decades.
Geoff will be sorely missed.

I loved Geoff like a brother, and like a brother, I’ll miss him sorely.

Knowing Geoff has been a rare privilege. We’ve laughed a lot together. We’ve had good times and bad.

It’s been the best of times in so many ways.

Buddies and Partners in Crime...

A very sad loss, but a peaceful ending to a life spent looking after so many people.

I will miss our weekly chats.

Geoff was a good friend to me. He was always able to talk about anything at any time and give it his full attention. He also helped me with my foot and back problems and taught me a lot about that. I will miss having our chats and wish his family good health for the future.

Dr. Thompson was a very special man. He was kind and thoughtful. As a patient of his, he helped me more than I can possibly say. We shared a love of astronomy and we would often talk about the mysteries of the universe. I am so very sorry to hear of his death.
