The obituary notice of Vanessa Louise TILBURY (Rhymer)

Vanessa was my daughter’s infant teacher seventeen years ago. She was the perfect gift to a class who’d been through an unsettling period of transition, the previous teacher having left just a few weeks into the school year. I was so shocked to hear last week of her sudden, untimely death.

We lived in the same neighbourhood and would run into one another from time to time. She always found a moment in her busy schedule for a friendly chat. Vanessa was an intelligent, creative, gifted and extraordinary soul who could have pursued a high-flying scientific career, but instead chose to devote her time and warmth to her family and the successive generations of children who blossomed in her care. She was adored and will be sorely missed by so many people. The thoughts of so many of us are with her family especially at this time.
