JohnWILSONIt is with greatest sorrow that the family announces the sudden death of John Wilson on Tuesday, June 1st 2021 at Broadstairs. Much loved and loving husband of Jac. Caring father of Julie and Catherine. Amazing grandad to Alice, Lucy and Eleanor. Father-in-law to Ian and Matt, uncle and brother-in-law. Ex-Coventrians rugby player. Deputy headteacher of St John's C of E Primary School, Coventry for more than 25 years. Passionate supporter of Castleford Tigers Rugby League Club. Friend to so many. He loved to chat. Funeral to be held on 23rd June 2021. Attendance by invitation only due to Covid 19 restrictions. Family flowers only please. Please wear black and amber, which are Castleford Tigers colours. Live stream will be available for details enquire with Grimmett & Timms, Funeral Directors. Donations, if desired, to be sent to Grimmett & Timms Funeral Directors, 118 Albany Road, Coventry. Donations can be sent to The British Heart Foundation and The Castleford Tigers Foundation (which helps young people and families in Castleford). Interment of his ashes will take place at Castleford Parish Church in the autumn.

It was very sad to hear the news. John was my 2nd Team captain in 1986/87 at Coventrians RFC and a great mate from then on. I loved meeting up with him at the Covents' VP's days and yapping for ages (used to steer him away from Cas & Roger Millward though) I suppose the last time was about 18 months ago - will miss you John, Mick Winterton x

John was a very good friend he loved to chat about everything castleford had some great times with him and his wife Jac it was very nice when we met up in castleford and the south of France.
