Gordon HerbertAMBLER MBEPassed away peacefully at home on Wednesday 18th December 2019, age 99 years. Beloved Husband of the late Winifred and father to Elizabeth and the late Stuart. Loving Grampy and Great Grampy. Loyal servant to the community of Woodhouse Eaves Remembered by all. PLEASE NOTE REVISED FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS Gordon's service will now be held at 11:30am on Wednesday 8th January at St Pauls Church, Woodhouse Eaves. LE12 8RF, where he was church warden and reader for many years. No flowers by request. Donations if desired and cheques made payable to The Salvation Army can be sent via G. Gamble & Sons (Quorn) Ltd, 101A Meeting Street, Quorn. LE12 8AQ. Tel 01509 415415

Remembered Gordon from my time at at hempit hill house,my brother and I were very young and sacred, Gordon and Winnie used to take us to their private quarters and give us sweets on the quite,so sad to hear of his passing.. Very fond memories of them both Xx Andrew Eshak Xx R.I.P X

Sending loving thoughts and prayers to the family of Mr Gordon Ambler MBE. I have very fond memories of Mr & Mrs Ambler as a young girl attending St Paul's Church with my family. I am now 46!
I sang in the choir with him, he helped me prepare for my confirmation and I was honoured that he was kind enough to do a reading during my wedding service in 1998.
I know that my parents held both Mr & Mrs Ambler in very high regard (Mick & Janet Payne) and I must offer my most sincerest apologies for not being able to attend the funeral service today.
A most amazing member of the community, held dear in our hearts, now at rest xxx
