Poem for Mam

My Mam was known as Doreen, Grandma or Auntie Dot
She was allergic to most things and didn't like being hot
She liked the countryside and to walk down the garden path
Once the firemen had to pull her out the bath
She would wobble when she would laugh
She was the most loving Mam and the best
With her sweet natured old fashioned manner and style, she stood out from the rest
With her trademark brightly coloured coat and white hair
A flowery dress, a cardigan with brooch she would wear
She was so kind, caring and thoughtful, we were so blessed
She loved the Boro and was probably obsessed
We will miss you so much and you will always be in our heart
But our everlasting love means we will never be apart
You're back with the family now in heaven and with Dad
This provides some comfort when we inevitably get sad

I thought I would go before you. I miss you so much. I plan on staying down here for as long as I can and battle on like you taught me. Love you always Mam.
