John ChristopherBARRETTBARRETT - JOHN CHRISTOPHER, . The family of John Christopher Barrett are heartbroken to announce his passing on January 28, 2021. John was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, in 1947 to John Wilson Barrett, a mechanic, and his wife Cecelia, a homemaker. He moved to the Wirral when he married primary school teacher Eileen in 1984. Their 38-year love story began when John answered Eileen's personal ad in Catholic newspaper The Universe. After stints working in office jobs and as a librarian, John became a long distance lorry driver in the early 1970s - a job he maintained up until his retirement. He went on to earn his degree in Maritime History from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1995, having balanced his studies with being a stay-at-home dad to daughters Lucy and Fran when they were little. Who knew John will remember a man of great integrity, modesty and quiet charm. A voracious reader, John was endlessly curious about the world. He was a motor sport enthusiast, film buff, foodie and, most importantly, a devoted husband to Eileen and wonderful father to Lucy and Fran. John is survived by Eileen, Lucy and Fran, and sons-in-law Scott and Chaz. He will be forever loved and missed.
