GordonBATESGordon passed away peacefully aged 87 on 20 August 2022 in Sydney, Australia. Husband of Faye, brother of Michael, Brian and Penny, and son of Reg and Kathleen Bates. Gordon lived in Groombridge before emigrating to Australia in 1970. He is much loved and fondly remembered. Rest in Peace

So sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. Fond memories of working for Gordon when he was an agricultural contractor in Groombridge, be it on the back of a corn drill, his combine harvester or tree felling. and landscaping We usually ended up in the Victoria Inn having a drink with local farmers Stan and Aubrey Frampton. They were extremely happy days.
