We were all so very sorry to hear of your loss of dear Lawrence. Deepest Sympathy to Kathleen and all the Families. We always enjoyed being in the presence of Lawrence. He was someone who would always greet us with a smile and genuine warmth, never a bad word to say about anyone. Many a good conversation with him over the numerous years since we all met him. He will be sadly missed by us all. Mary, Ian and all The O'Haras, Bridie (Norway), Veronica (Ballina), and Margaret (Wexford), and all our families.

My first recollection of Lawrence (or Lol as we've always known him) was when I was a mere 4 or 5. I remember he had been given a meccano set which my nan had saved for ages to buy for him. It was a big deal and nobody was allowed to touch it. When my Dad died in Sheffield we moved to Retford and my mum, Lal and Hazel were quite close. They used to regularly go dancing at Nottingham Palais which is where, if I remember correctly, is where he met Kathy. (I may be wrong on that point). I remember Lal used to love all the tv programmes between 5 and 6 like Supercar and Dr Who. Although we never saw each other much over the last 20 years, when we did meet he always had that lovely smile on his face. It has been an absolute pleasure to know Lawrence. He was a lovely, kind man who was liked by all who knew him. RIP Lawrence xxx
