ChristineBELLHazlerigg Christine passed away peacefully in Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital on December 27th aged 79 years. Beloved Wife of Donald (Don), a much loved Mother of Elizabeth, Katheryne, Iain and the Late Andrew, Mother-In-Law of Andrew, Malcolm and Tracey and a devoted Nanna and Great Nanna. Due to the current circumstances a private funeral service will take place followed by a private cremation. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to St Oswald's Hospice via www.funeral-notices.co.uk. All enquiries to H. Duckworth Funeral Directors, Cramlington, Tel:01670 713218.

I met Mr and Mrs Bell in the late 70s when I stayed at their house as part of a football team visiting from Atlanta in the US. The whole family was so welcoming. I'll never forget that they displaced Iain and Andrew from their room to allow me and my teammate to sleep in proper beds. And they took us to the North Sea so we could stick our toes in and hope they thawed in time for our next match.

I think fondly of the Bell family when I remember those 11 days in Newcastle. Mrs Bell was such a kind and gentle soul.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
