Mr Brinkley taught me French in the late 1980s/early 1990s and I have always had fond memories of him as a lovely, gentle man, and a fabulous teacher. RIP Monsieur.

I was lucky to have Mr Brinkley as my form tutor for 5 years. He was a proper old school teacher who expected the best for and from his pupils. Mr Brinkley taught with dedication and humour - a real inspiration.

Mr Brinkley was my form tutor for 4 years and he seemed to care as much about me as I did about him - a great deal. I will never forget the huge part that his humour, kindness (and tenacity when teaching me French) played in making my life what it is today.

Mr Brinkley was my Form Tutor for 4 years and my French and Spanish teacher (1978 to 1984). I will forever remember and be grateful for the stability that he provided, his dedication to supporting and teaching us and his sense of fun. He truly cared. Thank you Mr Brinkley.

The most brilliant French teacher and a lovely, kind man too. In fact, him and Mr Tongue ( who has also died) were hands down the best teachers at Plympton Grammar ( 1978-1985) Mr B was always notably present at funerals for some of our contemporaries in recent years - a teacher who truly cared.
