The devoted wife of the late Fred, loving mum of Anne, Alan and Janice, dear mother-in-law of John, Shirley and Alan, cherished grandma of Peter, Alicia, Matthew, Martyn, Jeanette, Sarah and David, and a loved great-grandma. Mary spent most of her life living in the Baxenden area of Accrington where she was an active member of St John’s Church. In her younger years Mary worked as a secretary at Holden Vale in Haslingden before going on to study her teaching qualification and securing herself a career at Brockhall School, which spanned for many years until its closure. Mary was always a well respected member of her working team and was truly committed to he pupils. At home, Mary enjoyed completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles and she always looked forward to getting away on holiday for an adventure, and thought nothing of hooking up the caravan to the car and setting off for a tour of Europe. She was a keen dancer and loved nothing more than stepping out onto the dance floor with her beloved husband Fred. Mary was the most devoted family lady who loved to catch up with her nearest and dearest and would always eagerly await their check in call when they returned from any outing or trip away.
