Rachel AlexandraCOOMBESuddenly on Friday 7th January at her home surrounded by her loving family, Rachel of Heol Rheolau, Abercrave. Devoted daughter of the late Betty and John, much loved sister of Mags, cherished aunt of Siôn, Gareth, David and Melanie and a much-loved niece, cousin and friend. The funeral will be held on Friday 28th January. Service outside Rachel's home at 11am, followed by service and interment at Ty'n Coed Cemetery at 12:15pm. Family flowers only. Donations if so desired in memory of Rachel may be given to St John's Ambulance Cardiff Central Division kindly received by Roger Castle & Daughter Independent Funeral Directors, 86 Commercial St, Ystalyfera, Swansea. SA9 2HU. Tel: 01639843231. Please wear a splash of pink.

I am only just learning of the very sad news of Rachael's passing, Rachael was a dearly loved friend of mine, whom I came to know and really cared about during our Cardiff University years. She had a sweetness, kindness and deep genuine caring for others - truly special ! I also had the wobderful opportunity to meet and spend time with her warm and caring family during that time. And even though our lives took different paths after graduating form university, she always remained one of my dearest lifelong friends. I was happy to have been able to visit the UK a couple of times and the last time in 2018 when I took my daughter and husband from the US to Cardiff to meet her - they thought she was lovey and could see why I cared about her. I am saddened to read of her death I will miss her and hold on to the cherished memories of our friendship. She was truly a unique loving, caring person. The world needs more like her.
