IanDAVIES(Ex Royal Navy Submarines and Courtaulds) With great sadness on 24th April 2021 after a long illness, Ian passed away aged 83 years. Dearly loved Husband to the late Margaret. Loved Father to Sonia and Father in law to Graham. Much loved Grandad to Lauren and James, Joe and Nicola, Great Grandad to Evelyn and Emelia. A service to celebrate Ian's life will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Friday 14th May 2021 at 11:15. By request family flowers only please, donations in memory of Ian for the Royal British Legion will be greatly received and may be sent via www.britishlegion.org.uk. My sincere condolences to Margaret and family with the passing of Ian. So sorry for your loss.
I am an ex-workmate of Ian's from my years at Courtaulds Textiles and knew him well. Ian was always a person with a joke to tell, and who had an infectious laugh, that was always louder than the recipient. I can still hear him and see his face. I emigrated to Canada in 1974 and on visits back to Grimsby, always tried to meet up with several ex-workmates, Ian was always there. Cheers mate, rest in peace. John Crolla.
