I first met Len whilst looking after his wife Eileen who used to come to the day centre at Broomfield Lodge. Eileen eventually lived at Broomfield Lodge and Len was always visiting her. He was a very popular man with a beautiful smile and after Eileen died I used to visit him at home as we remained friends. He actually made my daughter a beautiful dolls house which unfortunately we lost whilst moving. I remember one of his dogs Micky who used to love to drink the dregs of your tea if you put the mug on the floor. I also remember that he never took his Christmas tree down but covered it over with polythene and left it in a spare bedroom so it was already decorated for the following year. I also remember him buying me some beautiful earrings for my birthday which he put in a box that he made himself and also he had a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to my workplace for me . Sadly I lost touch with him when I moved to Yorkshire but will always remember him. RIP Len. Much love Pat xx
