I spent some time with Tom reminiscing about his war years & his time in Armadale where he & my father were in the Scouts together . He gave me a photo of my father ( which featured in his war diary) and I was able to share this with my siblings. It was a photo I had never seen before & all the more precious He was a lovely man & so thoughtful. Sharing those memories, joining him at a meeting of theNorthumbrian scribes and enjoying several of his beautiful maps : a very special link with my father and an amazing talent

Such a privilege to meet Tom in person some years back, to witness his amazing calligraphy skills at his local exhibition having read his war diary and enjoyed his art work too.

What a lovely man who was a true Christian. Anyone who knew Tom would be a better person for knowing him.
