I'm sorry that I didn't hear the sad news of Philip's passing until now. Having known him years ago at what was a tragic time for him and Margaret it was a real pleasure to meet them both again and worship together at Kennington later on. We had warm conversation about several issues, and he was a fine example of the making of deep connections between his Christian faith and the demands and opportunities of an important public role. Jan and I would want Margaret to know even at this late stage of our sympathy for her in her loss and our prayers for her. May Philip rest in peace, and with all God's faithful rise in glory.
