Christopher James (Chris)HATTAMChris Birtley It is with great sorrow that the family of Christopher announce his sudden and tragic death on 15th December 2020 in Hong Kong. Chris and Helen were so very deeply devoted to each other and were blessed with 2 beautiful children, Florrie and Harry, who he adored with all his heart and soul. Christopher was a loving and devoted son to Dorothy and Harry; a dearly loved brother of Caroline; cherished son-in-law of Alan, Betty and Tom; a much loved brother-in-law of Simon, Val, David, Paul and Jane; a dearest uncle of Kate, Sophie, Aidan, Amy, Will and Joseph; an extraordinary teacher; a mentor and a truly treasured friend of all who knew him. Christopher's funeral and celebration of life will be live streamed from Hong Kong on Saturday 23rd January, 6.30am UK time. To view please follow this link youtu.be/HDnyUrnk6wE

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy and Harry on the loss of their beloved son Christopher... no one expects to survive their children. Deepest sympathy to Helen, Florrie & Harry, also to Caroline, Simon, Kate & Sophie. We will remember Chris, arriving at his parent’s house in his shorts, t-shirt and flip flips... sun glasses on top of his head and a cheerful smile and big “Hello, how are you “.
