JohnHAYTONPassed away after a short illness on 20th April at his home in Haslingden, aged 88.

A much loved partner to Sheila and father to Denise and Anthony.

John was born in Salford and evacuated to Haslingden during the war; in his younger days, he played cricket for Haslingden and later for Baxenden, and had a lifelong love of music. He lived and worked all his life in Haslingden running the family newsagents in Deardengate and later working from home as a Dental Technician. He will be dearly missed.

His funeral will take place at the chapel in Haslingden Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday 7th May at 11am.

The family asks for family flowers only; donations in his memory are welcome for Cancer Research UK.

What do you fancy John?- always brought a twinkle in his eye as the days horse racing runners were digested and selections made. 'Well its like this' was his usual opening remark, as he then explained how, what was to me a no hoper, would romp home - and often it did or at least gain a place. We recently had a couple of lovely days together with my sister Sue enjoying the Cheltenham Festival and as ever he picked out some nice winners. We will all miss him greatly but can remember the happy days together with joy. RIP.
