AlanHEWLETTMr Alan Hewlett, of Holme Street, Stacksteads died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Saturday, May 21, aged 73. A service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Tuesday, May 31 at 10.05am, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 10.45am, conducted by Mr Peter Goulding. Born in Todmorden, Alan lived in the Bacup and Stacksteads area all of his life. He was employed at The Bacup Shoe Company, Atherton Holme Mill, for most of his working life, and retired from Cormar Carpets in Ramsbottom. Alan loved playing bowls and golf, and was a supporter of Burnley Football Club. He leaves his wife of 50 years Linda, daughters Melanie and Claire, son Paul and their partners, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, an extended family and many friends.
