LindaHOBDAYLinda passed away peacefully at home aged 78 on 6th July surrounded by her family, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Beloved wife of John, treasured and devoted mum of Ann and Pete, truly beloved grandma of Manny, Kirsten and Samuel, dearly loved sister of John and Irene, and cherished mother in law of Graham and Ali. Linda will be sadly missed by all who knew her throughout her life, including the many children and young people she dedicated her life to working with. She was an ex captain of the Girls Brigade, and a playgroup leader at the Mickleover Methodist church playgroup, where she was affectionately known as Auntie Linda. She finished her working life as a nursery nurse at the Cottage Nursery. Linda will be remembered at her Funeral service to be held at 11 .00am on Thursday 28th July, at the Methodist/United Reformed Church on Ashbourne Road Derby, which Linda had attended for almost 70 years, followed by the committal cremation at Markeaton Crematorium, 12:30pm. People are invited to wear bright colours if they wish, which Linda always loved. Family flowers only please, but those wishing to make a donation to Treetops Hospice in Linda's name can do so at the service, or via Linda's tribute page https://lindahobday.muchloved.com Enquiries to Wathall's 101-111 Macklin Street, Derby DE1 1LG 01332 345268

So Sad to hear about the death of Linda, I have fond memories from Girls Brigade days, where her company always used to come first in everything and the 10th Derby company would try our best to beat them! Also from my son attending playgroup at mickleover Methodist, where without her support with my son it would have taken longer for a diagnosis and getting him the right support. RIP Linda and my love to all the family xx
