IanHUGHES-RIXHAM(Washington). Passed away on the 26th June 2022, aged 73. Beloved husband of Gaynor, much loved dad of Joanne, Alistair and daughter-in-law Louise, adored Poppa of Jessica and Hayden, cherished brother of Shelagh, treasured nephew of Alma, and dear cousin of Fiona. Funeral service to take place at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday 13th July 2022 at 12.00 noon; feel free to wear bright colours. Family flowers only but donations in memory of Ian for Brysons Animal Shelter would be welcome.

So, H-R, you've left the party early. We've remained close friends since I first worked as your deputy at Linton Lodge in the very early 1980's. What I learned from you in one year stayed with me my entire career, along with so many surreal, funny experiences together. Enjoyed my visits to you in Washington on the bike. And, as Adam's Godfather, you hold a very special place in our hearts.
Yes, as others have said.....the World's a better place for you having visited it.
