Truly lovely man. A favourite whilst being a student at SVC.
So glad I got to meet him again more recently and actually tell him too.
RIP Mr James.

I came to know David through the TR Register and his love of TR sports cars and other classic cars. He was extremely capable and knowledgeable on all things mechanical. He would rather repair cars than drive them but we did manage some lovely holidays in France with our wives in the classics. We also met up most weeks in the Duke in Willingham and put the world to rights. He was a very lovely man with a wonderful, gentle sense of humour who will be greatly missed. Rest in peace David. I was a colleague of David for four years and I can honestly say that he was one of the best respected teachers that I have ever worked with in 35 years of teaching.
Totally admired by fellow colleagues and pupils.
One of the great men.
