The obituary notice of Dr Wynford JENKYN-JONES

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Jenks, he was an inspiration in my early years.
I first met him when I joined the Helmsville Practice in 1972. He very kindly took me on my first visits to see patients. He was very patient as I think I spent an hour with the first one, and I quickly learned to speed up to complete 6 or 7 in our lunchtime!
We became great friends and my wife and I would go around to his home every Monday evening to play chess and drink the occasional cider. We got to learn of his life's journey in the army, in Indonesia and Crewe. He had an extensive family which he seemed to manage remarkably well. We shared many interests and remained friends until we moved down to Cambridgeshire. He had a great knowledge of so many interests from gardening to music. During this time he returned to the piano and won a music award, the prize of which was to perform with the Halle. I have noticed he had a local interest in Jazz and art. He visited us occasionally, sadly we lost touch.
