MarjorieKIRBYPeacefully in Royal Blackburn Hospital with family by her side, Wednesday, April 14, aged 79, of Clayton-le-Moors. Much loved wife of Arnold, devoted and loved mum of Susan and Kenneth, mother-in-law to Chris and Mandy, cherished grandma of Daniel, Sarah, Meagan, and Kirsty, and great-grandma to Keira, Jesse, Harrison, and Willow. Marjorie was a regular member of Barnes Square Methodist Church, where she had lots of lovely friends helping as a Sunday School teacher; she was always asked to bake parkin and buns for all the church occasions. She enjoyed many years of family holidays in the touring caravan, and later with Arnold going on self-catering holidays in Devon, Northumberland, and the Scarborough coastlines. She retired as a legal secretary and, together with Arnold, they were kept busy with two grandchildren, having the best days out in Southport, St Anne’s, Morecambe, and every local park in Hyndburn. Special thanks to Accrington District Nurses and the staff on C11 for all their care and empathy. “Lovely lady, always smiling.” She will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbours. Marjorie’s funeral will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, April 23, at 1.40pm. Family flowers only please; donations to British Heart Foundation and North West Air Ambulance Charity c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
