JoanLATHAMAndy, Ann and Rachael are sad to announce the death of their Mum, Joan.
Born in Huddersfield to Harry and Annie Clegg in 1932, she was the eldest of five children (with Brothers Colin, David, Richard and Raymond). She married Derek in 1959 and moved to Birmingham and Southampton.
Joan was a wonderful wife to Derek and amazing Mum to the three of us and Grandma to Bethany, Ellen, Gabriel, Ed, Adam, Ben, Becca and Kyle. She was a Great-Grandma ten times over.
She leaves behind a legacy of singing performances, epic cooking and baking, she could pull together a Sunday lunch for twenty, seemingly without effort, readily gave her time to help others and volunteered endlessly for the Church, enjoying entertaining and just being there for friends and family.
Our hearts rejoice as she is now reunited in Heaven with Dad, who will no doubt be saying 'I've waited for ages, what took you so long'
Funeral service to celebrate Joan's life is at Wells Methodist Church, Wells on Wednesday 11th October 2023 at 1.30pm, followed by cremation at the Mendip Crematorium, 2.30pm.
