Leslie CharlesMATTHEWSOn Sunday, 14th May 2023 peacefully at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Leslie aged 86 years, of Pool, Redruth. A beloved husband of Francis Mary, a much loved Dad of Cheryl and a good friend to many. Funeral service at Treswithian Downs Crematorium on Friday 9th June 2023 at 2pm. The family have requested that black funeral attire is not necessary, and welcomes something colourful and casual. Family flowers only, donations if so desired for The British Heart Foundation by retiring collection or c/o David Hendy & Sons Funeral Directors Treswithian, Camborne TR14 7NW. Tel: 01209 612025

Enjoyed working with and learning from Leslie. Also the hilarious banter between Leslie and Geoff Harvey in the dry on dayshifts. I wonder if any of his treasures (tool stashes) will be found underground at South Crofty? The last of a long line of Cornish Tin Miners. Have a big glass of brandy for me Les wherever you are. Will think of you next time I am in Cornwall.
