DavidPILKINGTONof Heightside Avenue, Newchurch, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on October 18, aged 83.

He worked for many years at JB Broadley and Reeds Holme Works from where he retired as works director.

David had many interests over the years including shooting, fishing, rock climbing and he loved his garden. His latest past time was making beautiful handmade walking sticks and crooks.

He was an active member of Haslingden and District Fly Fishing Club and also Burnley Angling Club.

He leaves his wife Shirley, daughter Miranda and son-in-law Matt, his son Richard and daughter-in-law Anne. Grandchildren Charlie, Henry, Harvey, Will and Nancy. Also his niece Lindsay and her husband Kevin and not forgetting his beloved dog Becky.

A service will be held on Thursday, October 31 at St James Church Haslingden at 12.15pm followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium. F.F.O.
