Maurice GeorgeSMALL04.01.1939 - 22.06.2020 Following a short illness Maurice passed away peacefully, with his family around him, on the 22nd June 2020. Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his sons Andrew, Clive and Richard, their respective partners Jane, Laura and Simon, and his Grandchildren Joe, Charlie, Daisy and Séamus. Maurice was an avid Golfer, Gardener and enthusiastic Artist. He was a Member of Rushcliffe Golf Club and was proud to have recently received his honorary membership of Shepshed Charnwood Rotary Club. A resident of Kegworth, he was an active member of the community for over 50 years, and was a familiar and popular face around the village. Maurice will be greatly missed by all his family and friends - described as a lovely man with a winning smile and always good to chat with; we all have many happy memories of Dad and the life he packed full with fun and adventure. He is now reunited with his wife Sally, who he has missed dearly since she passed away in 2018. May he now rest in peace. A memorial service for close family and invited guests will be held on Friday 17th July at Loughborough Crematorium. The family have requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Parkinsons UK www.parkinsons.org.uk or to Rainbows Hospice www.rainbows.co.uk. For those friends of Maurice who due to number restrictions are unable to attend the memorial service, the family would like to invite you to gather at Windmill Way, Kegworth at 1pm to pay your respects. The service will be live streamed from Loughborough Crematorium via a weblink, details of which can be obtain from the family. All enquiries to Kriss Morrison Cooper Independent Funeral Director. Maurice's infectious smile, sense of humour and joie de vivre were always at hand to cheer you up. He had a wonderful way of making the world a better place and we will miss him greatly. Unfortunately we were not able to pay our respects on Friday but send our love to his whole family. Our deepest sympathies and our thoughts go with you. Love Graham and Kazuyo.
