Samuel FrancisSMITH (Known as Frank)Known as Frank Passed away on the 17th January 2021 at the age of 90 years. He was a Chief Inspector in the Nottinghamshire Police Service. He joined the Police Service on the 4th December 1953 at the age of 23. He was selected to attend Police College at Bramshill in Hampshire where for six months he studied general education subjects and Police higher command. Prior to joining the Police Service, he was a Fireman on British Rail during which time, from 1949 to 1950, he saw National Service with the Royal Airforce Regiment where he was promoted to Corporal and was a Small Arms Instructor. He leaves his wife Barbara, children John, Helen and Christopher, Grandchildren Emily, Sarah and Michael, Great-grandchildren Harry and Benjamin, daughter-in-law Susan, son-in law-Kevin, also Simon, husband of Sarah and Rosemary, partner to Christopher. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all those who made Franks last journey comfortable. The doctors and staff at Radcliffe on Trent Surgery Dr Patel and Dr Ekwuru. The nurses at Cotgrave hub, his carers of Newfound Home Care, West Bridgford. Not forgetting our neighbours for their kindness, Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club who was most helpful - A club that Frank was proud to be Captain and later President.
