Sheila AnneSMITHPassed away peacefully at her daughter's home on the 4th March 2021 aged 77 years. Dearly beloved wife of Terry, cherished mother to Catherine and Richard. Proud Grannie to Ryan and Kieran, Dylan, Jemima and Luella. After her own journey with breast cancer she dedicated the past 20 years of her life to improving the psychological and emotional support available to those experiencing cancer. The majority of this work was with North Wales Cancer Care focusing on rural communities in particular, then in 2019 she moved back to Yorkshire where she continued her work as a trustee of Yorkshire Cancer Community. This was her passion and she made a huge and joyful impact in the organisations she worked with. Her energy and positivity were an inspiration to all those whose lives she touched. We are so immensely proud of all that she achieved in her life, she was a tour de force and will be sadly missed by us all. Private funeral service to be held at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium, Sheffield. Family flowers only please but donations if desired may be left to North Wales Cancer Care, Yorkshire Cancer Community, Marie Curie and Macmillan.

Sheila was a breath of fresh air to our organisation. Full of positivity and creativity. If she said she would do something, she always committed to it. Although I've only known her since 2019, I feel like I've known her much longer. She was a great support to me as a lone worker, a source of joy and inspiration. She is greatly missed.

Sheila made an amazing contribution to our Cancer Patient Forum during her time in North Wales. Her energy and commitment to improving support for people living with cancer made real differences to our local cancer services. We now have a complementary therapy service in our three Cancer Treatment Units here in North Wales.
Sheila became a good friend to many Forum members, and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She seemed able to approach every challenge with positivity and good humour.
She always spoke with such joy about times spent with family. Hopefully many happy memories will bring comfort during difficult times.
