I haven't known Kate for as many years as others. However, very early from the time of meeting her, I thought of her as a friend. Always smiling and made me feel very welcome. We had many a chat, cup of tea and the 'occasional' slice of cake. She obviously lived for her family, and we shared the joy of our beautiful grandchildren. A very special connection.l shall always remember her with great affection. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I remember Kate when our children went to school together, Kate was always such a generous lady with her time, oh how many cups of tea we drank whilst the children were playing. The house was always full of laughter. Kate was a wonderful cook too, and always could rattle a meal together in no time. Kate absolutely loved her family and I was privileged to be a part of that for many years. Sadly we lost touch once the children grew up but I am more than grateful that I knew her for the wonderful generous lady she was xx Fiona

My wife, Sylvia Peak is, like Kate was, a resident in the Westerleigh Care Home on the dementia floor. I do not know how the relationship worked, but Sylvia and Kate made a real and positive connection. So many times when I arrived to visit (I visit every day), they were walking the corridor hand in hand... and the three of us would have a visit together. It was obvious, in spite of her limitations, that she was a lovely lady with an abundance of smiles and obvious affection for Sylvia, and lately for myself. I sympathise hugely for your loss. I did not know her long but the obvious goodness in her really did shine through.
